a wheel in constant motion

“Time is too slow for those who wait, too swift for those who fear, too long for those who grieve, too short for those who rejoice, but for those who love, time is eternity.”

- Henry Van Dyke

fifteen months ago i decided to go to college at utah state.
approximately a year ago, my aunt passed away, my high school lacrosse team took 3rd in state, i  went to prom with andy taggart, i went on the best vacation ever to san diego with the choir, and i graduated high school.
almost eight months ago i moved to logan and met some of thee most amazing people, who have made a lasting impact on my life.
six months ago two of my closest friends left on their missions and i cried. and cried. and cried.
almost six months ago i had my first kiss in logan...on the roof of snow hall.
almost four months ago my best friend, zach, left on his mission.
three months ago i turned nineteen and had the best birthday ever.
six weeks ago i had my best spring break ever with half of usu in vegas.
three weeks ago i got an amazing letter.
a week ago i pulled a couple all nighters with allie.
a couple days ago i went dumpster diving and ally exploring with my buddies in the middle of the night.
today my roommate/one of my closest friends got engaged.
tomorrow is a pajama dance, a-day/true aggie night, and a sleepover.
easter is in three days.
i move home in two weeks.
in two months madi gets married.
in two and a half months....bear lake! and i'll see my sister.
in about three months almost all my guy friends my age will be full-time missionaries.
in a little over three months taylor and scott get married.
in four months i'll start fall semester at a new school.
next year: i will be turning 20. i'll officially not be a teenager.
my brother kason will be graduating high school. my brother kody will be driving.
hopefully kourt and beau will be having a kid.
hopefully i'll be going to peru.

all of these events in my life come and go, are brought by and swept away by time. some of these things are gone and i miss them. some of them are coming and i dread them. some of them i am sooo excited for and they are what keep me going.

the clock is ticking...

so what do i do? sometimes i read old letters and journal entries, and look at old pictures and reminisce with myself. sometimes i cry because of it. sometimes i go to bed anxious for tomorrow. sometimes i don't go to bed simply because i don't want the day to end. i try to see as many people as often as i can because i won't always be able to. no day of my life will ever be the same as today was, or the same as tomorrow will be.
so im learning to try my best to treasure each one.

i don't know if you can tell from the clock, but this was taken at 6:38 A.M. before we went to bed last saturday.

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances
But they're worth taking
Lovin' might be a mistake
But it's worth making
Don't let some hell bent heart
Leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out
Reconsider
Give the heavens above
More than just a passing glance

[promise me that you'll give faith a fighting chance.]

and when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
i hope you dance.

time is a wheel in constant motion always rolling us along
tell me who wants to look back on their years and wonder where those years have gone.
-i hope you dance by leeann womack

oh, and don't you love this world? happy earth day.

-kandi
