one down...

mawage. mawage is what bwings us togethow tooday.

is this real life?? one of my closest friends growing up is now married and on her....honeymoon?!

from the time madi and brock started dating last summer and i would sit by them in church and feel like their kid, to the time we talked about the possibility of them getting married, to the time that i got her phone call after he proposed and i jumped up and down screaming and mike and preston instantly asked, "so who's engaged?" to getting fitted for my bridesmaid's dress to shopping for lingerie and kitchen items and helping with and attending bridal showers, this friend getting married stuff has been soo much fun.

but this last week in and of itself is something that i will never forget. monday i had a sleepover with paige, hannah, and madi--the girls i grew up with--our last sleepover as bachelorettes. we stayed up until five in the morning talking about relationships, missions, getting married, and all of our good times we've always had and will continue to have.

the next couple of days were packed with running errands, picking up pictures, helping madi pack, getting our nails done, being there for waxings, setting up tables for the luncheon, putting numerous pictures in frames, and pruning and vasing 200 + yellow roses. as we set up for the luncheon the night before, i kept cracking really bad jokes about everything that could go wrong the next day and asking madi if she wanted to hang out tomorrow night. laying in bed wednesday night, the night before the wedding, i was texting paige and it just didn't seem real that one of our best friends were getting married!

the day of the wedding was kind of a blur. i got up and got ready, picked up madi's bouquet, picked up paige and hannah, went to madi's and got her siblings ready, and drove out to the salt lake temple. we weren't there for too long before madi and brock came out and we cheered and hugged and congratulated. we then stayed a while for pictures done by the fantastic jessica janae and then headed back to bountiful for the luncheon at joy luck. i will never forget how good that food tasted. or i guess how precious the speeches were. but really the food was fantastic.

friday was the reception! i helped set up for a few hours during the day and then was there early for pictures. the reception was so much fun and it was so adorable! it was in the back yard of a neighbor's house. her colors were purple and yellow. there were bridals and engagement pictures everywhere. there were chicken salad sandwiches, fruit kabobs, and most importantly delicious and adorable cupcakes and amazing lemonade slush. they also rented a photo booth for the sign-in book. hannah of course caught the bouquet. it was definitely very tiring but it was so much fun and made me so happy to see madi and brock and both of their families so happy.

when jess finishes all the pictures maybe i'll put some more up, for now this is pretty much all i got!
growing up the four of us always dreamed of the day we got married. we talked about what colors and flowers we wanted, we played "MASH" and our "fortune-telling" card game. it has been so fun and so rewarding seeing madi find the perfect guy and marry him in the temple. besides seeing the way they look at each other, my other favorite parts of the week were going through madi's temple capsule she made five years ago, and hearing her dad, who is something of a second father to me, stand up during the luncheon and say how happy he was.
i am so grateful for madi's and brock's amazing example to me and i am so happy for them!
the beautiful madisyn rose and her husband brock.
