sprite.

when i was little my soft drink of choice was sprite.

as i've grown up i've moved on to much more...mature drinks.

such as blue powerade and the occasional dr. pepper.

anyway, i had an urge to drink a sprite and drinking it is bringing some memories to me.
i remember a sliver of what it felt like to be a little kid, happily drinking the lemon-lime sprite my parents had spoiled me with.

it reminds me of having my stomach settled after being sick. of feeling miserable but secure at the same time because my mom was taking care of me. she would always buy me sprites to settle my stomach. i'd cuddle up in a blanket and sip at the sprite, as i'd get ready to doze off to sleep.

sprite also reminds me of travelling. for some reason, whenever i'm on a plane i want to drink sprite. i almost always prefer non-carbonated drinks to carbonated drinks, but when i'm flying and the stewardess comes by and offers a drink, i can't help but ask for a sprite. drinking sprite leads me to think of staring out the window of a plane, watching the world underneath me get smaller and smaller. it reminds me of all the places i've gone with my family and the experiences we've had- good and stressful- on trips, of all the people i've met on airplanes, of the excitement of going somewhere new, and of all the places i want to go.

those are some nice thoughts that roll through my mind as i drink my sprite.
