things i take for granted and why we're friends.

the honest truth is that i haven't been very happy lately. and the honest truth is i haven't really opened up to my friends and my family and let them help me out. i stayed with paige the past couple of days and that turned out being just what i needed. i realized i have been taking my friendship with her for granted. i always take things for granted and then later think, "gosh, why am i so stupid?" i took my family for granted until i moved out. i took the boys who care about me the most for granted until they weren't here anymore and our only means of communicating was through mailing letters. i took my friends at school for granted until we all didn't live with each other anymore. staying with paige reminded me what it was like having roommates, and man do i miss my roommates from logan. i've been taking my brother for granted until i was at paige's apartment by myself and a spider ran across the pile of clothes i had in my arms, i called him for moral support as i killed it. i take all my memories with someone for granted until i receive their wedding invite in the mail and the reality of them getting married hits me. i took my cousin, aunt, and grandma for granted until they weren't on this earth with me anymore. and i know i take my three best girl friends--you know who you are-- for granted way too often. including paige.

these are just a few of the reasons paige and i are friends:

  1. we both like fish
  2. we'll watch each other's tv shows no matter how ridiculous they may be
  3. she gave me a harry potter coloring book
  4. she gave me a bunch of hand-me-over clothes she knew i'd want
  5. we'll stay up late having a heart-to-heart even though we both have work in the morning
  6. we laugh at stupid things like singing stuffed animals
  7. i'm not personally motivated to be healthy. she is. she inspires me.
  8. we make things together for when we have to move away from each other. last year we tye-dyed sheets to take to logan/provo with us. yesterday we bought some stuffed animals from walmart, unstitched and unfluffed them, and put rice in them so we could heat them up and cuddle with them.
  9. she will have an extra toothbrush for me. i always forget mine.
  10. she hates doing dishes and i just happen to love doing dishes.
  11. we read my jr high journal and she appreciates it. i was psycho and wrote the most ridiculous things in it. we both couldn't stop laughing at how stupid i was, but even after reading that she's still my friend
  12. she'll be mad at boys for me when i'm more easy-going than i should be
well i just love her.
and one more thing:
you'd think i'd be pretty used to this by now. but it still breaks my heart a little bit each time.
and what i'm scared about is the best of all my guy friends since i was 13 has yet to leave...bahh.
